Hawaii – Part 4

Mele Kalikimaka! Well almost…but it’ll be here soon enough! Here’s another collage of Hawaii photos taken at Waikiki Beach, our silly tour guide/conch blower and some Hawaii foliage. These images weren’t anything super special, straight out of the camera. I played around with some funky actions and came up with these. They remind me of old Hawaii postcard images. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not, but we’ll go with it!

Hawaii – Part 3

For the third installment of the Hawaii series, here’s a random selection of images from our trip. We went to the macadamia nut plantation one morning. The tour was totally cheesy, but funny and entertaining, complete with a totally rusted out bus to drive us around. We are lucky the front of the bus didn’t fall off, but the girls thought it was funny to ride around.

Chickens were running all over the island, he’s kind of cute huh?

The beach shots are from a secret cove (well obviously not so secret, since there are a ton of people there) where they have filmed a bunch of movies. Think of the movie Grease and Danny and Sandy kissing on the beach. Disclaimer: I don’t think Grease was actually filmed at this spot, but you get the idea of the scenes shot there…I’ve always been terrible at trivia…

The little frog my brother is holding was hopping around the mini golf course. It made for a nice mini science lesson for the girls. Notice I didn’t get a picture of them holding it…

And lastly a few portraits of the girls in Waikiki. We saw a cute, little free hula show before going to a nice dinner. Too bad the girls didn’t appreciate the dinner. I think I ended up in the lobby twice during our meal, trying to tame our beasts. Sigh. They are lucky they are so cute…

Hawaii – part 2

For part 2 of my Hawaii series, I thought I would mix it up a little bit. Nothing earth shattering here, but here is a sample of some random textures and close ups of stuff in Hawaii. I thought they might look cool blown up really big. Not that I need more artwork in my house, but I really should update some of the photos in our frames. Maybe this should be on my Christmas vacation project list…

Can you guess the textures?

From the top right: Lichen on a lava rock, rusted highway divider, sand, beach cliffs, water, highway hillside.

Hello and Happy Friday! Over the next week or so, I’ll be posting photos from our recent trip to Hawaii. We had a nice time visiting family and did some fun activities. This was the girls first time miniature golfing and they had a blast. Ava was into it a little more than Kenna, so therefore I have three times as many photos of her golfing than anyone else. Kenna did the “push the ball along with the club and call it a hole-in-one” routine. I guess golf isn’t her thing. I had quite a heavy hand and managed to send a few off the course. I guess golf isn’t my thing either. Either way, we had fun!

Calvin

Sorry I missed the picture of the week last week. We took a quick trip to Hawaii to visit family. I’m working on putting together my photos from the trip and will post them soon.

But for today, I’d like to share a recent shoot. This is little Calvin. Such a sweet little boy who had many expressions for me. I really had a lot of fun shooting this little guy and his mom, who is a friend of mine. Totally relaxing, fun photo shoot morning!

There wasn’t an official theme for this week, so instead I put together a collage of our Halloween pictures. Both girls were fairies this year and had so much fun trick or treating around the neighborhood. Our little blue fairy kept saying “mo candee, mo candee! oh yeah!” My thoughts exactly!
